Summer drink
When it gets hot out, a cold drink is a great way to. cool off. Fill a glass half full with ice, squeeze half a lemon over ice and half a lime. Drop the sqeezed rines into the glass add a marchino cherry and more ice till the glass is almost full. Pour a little marchino cherry juice over the ice and fill the glass with chilled water. Give a quick stir and serve with a lemon or lime wedge for garnish.

Birthday at wingers!
Being pregnant can give you some strange cravings I was craving a margarita so we went to wingers. Yum frozen margarita yeah it was a virgin one I did say I was pregnant didn't I? What I really wanted was the lime I think.(: I got the blackened chicken and my husband got the sticky finger dinner. His dinner was served with really tiny little dishes of beans and coleslaw, that was a little weird to see those on his plate. The food was good the service was okay and it was not a bad evening.

Turkey
I am roasting a turkey today and thought I would just send a quick tidbit out..
When you roast a turkey to get moist breast meat tuck butter under the skin above the breast. also be sure to add herbs and spices under the skin. sure if you sprinkle the turkey with salt and pepper you'll have seasoned skin but it does little for the meat so be sure to put it under the skin :)
To get some tips on roasting the perfect turkey my favorite presentation even is Akon Brown on food network. Look him up!

Being lazy
So I haven't posed anything on here for awhile, we have gone out to eat a few times like at that place in Huntington i think its like country cafe or something and eww just eww to much to talk about never ever go there plus i think my husband and son got food poisoning from them. just enough to have upset belly's and be fighting over the bathroom so not to serious but still that place is gross.
Um so I am 16 weeks pregnant and that is really the main reason that I have not been posting. I have just been so darn busy and pregnant sick. I will try to get back to posting and get some recipes on here but things are unpredictable right now so I don't know how much of really when.
Till then bye for now.

Wingers
My kids love to go to wingers because of the popcorn on the table. they think that is so cool.
my husband got the sticky finger dinner with the original sauce and he really liked it.
my kids both got the kids double cheese burger. yum when these came out they smelled so good and where so juicy that I had to take a bit out of my daughters. wow that might have been the best burger i have had at a restaurant.
I got the pub steak it was good but it was a little over done. and it came served on a massive mound of mashed potatoes the potatoes could have been a smaller serving and I would have liked it if the menu listed that my steak was a butterfly cut. the house veggies with it were not that good. it was zucchini and yellow squash with onions and it tasted like they were all just fried in a lot of oil.
over all it was one of the better times out that we have had.
When we go back I might have to order that yummy double cheese burger though.

pickled eggs
every once a while eggs will go on sell around here for very cheap. when they do its nice to snatch some up and make a few bottles of pickled eggs.
to do you will need a few things, a water bath steamer, bottles, boiled eggs, and pickling brine. your pickling brine or juice can consist of any recipe you like but i like mine kind of sweet and spicy
1 cup sugar
4 cups vinegar
3 cups water
1/2 cup spice mix
spice mix
cinnamon sticks
ground nutmeg
mustard seeds
ground turmeric
coriander seeds
whole cloves
whole peppercorns
salt
I keep a jar of this premixed always on hand
some other optional flavorings to add to the bottle:
onion
jalapeno
ginger
garlic

boil your eggs and peel them. sterilize the jars, lids, and rings. mix the pickling brine together in a pan and simmer for five minutes then turn off. alternate layering the optional ingredients and eggs till you have twelve eggs. don't pack them in to tight use more or less eggs for different size bottles. then fill jar most of the way up with juice. wipe off the rim of the jar put on lid and loosely attach ring process for about ten minutes at boiling then remove and cool. you can now open one jar and enjoy but there better the longer they set.

R pizza place
let me just sum it up for you eww and nope never buying from them again. dont really like supporting corporations but i will just go to little Caesars for now on when i want pizza. After a grand total of 54 bucks I got burnt wings, hard crust, and flavorless sauce and breadsticks. I have ate there in the past and it was much better it has really gone down hill.
The Greek streak
mmm just the name makes my mouth start watering. there is one reason alone why I and many others go to this restaurant that seems to have seen better days. gyro,s. pronounced yuro this pita bread sandwich is a lamb meat delight. I will not even eat lamb in any other way. as for the restaurant overall well the service sucks most other dishes on the menu are horrible but i keep going for that one delectable gyro. dont bother with the gryo plate the spaghetti is awful, the soup reminds me of a wet dog. but all else is forgiven because of that yummy sauce and perfectly roasted meat in the gyro. if you have ever hit one of the local fairs and had there lamb fry and found you like lamb you have got to try one of these. if you have ever tried lamb and didn't like it then you really need to try one. lets hope this place never closes or some of us might go a little crazy without our gyro fix.

Anthony J,s- The tuscan
Having always loved Italian food I was excited about eatting at the Tuscan with my husband for a night out with out the kiddies. I had herd over the radio that the Tuscan was a family restaurant, so when we walked into a large room with Linen covered tables and real napkins I was very surprised because I don't no about you but my children are not allowed any where near my linens. we were seated at a cozy little table next to the wall, our menus came and we were asked if we had ever been there before. when we replied that we hadn't the server explained about her bringing a salad and bread for the table which I enjoy and is a reason I find excuses to eat at the olive garden when out of town. she then took our drink orders and left us to look over the menu. Upon examination of the menu the first thing I noticed was that it was rather small which is fine if you are really good at the ones you do make. The second thing I noticed was that the menu said Anthony J,s at the top. hmm so I guess there was just a change of name and location. The third thing I noticed was that the prices for the area we live in are rather high. In eastern Utah we don't scream sophisticated. there are no black tie affairs, and your lucky if your guest dress up to attend your wedding. Being this type of location, when people go out to eat they are looking for good home food at a good price. Ten dollars is the cap that most people are willing to pay for food that is not divine. Now when I go out to eat at a new restaurant I almost always find a steak on the menu to order, I find a quick way to judge a cook is by having them grill you up a steak. I was delighted to find a Alfredo with steak yum my mouth was watering just reading the description of the dish. I also ordered zucchini sticks as a appetizer. My husband who loves seafood ordered the shrimp scampi and calamari for a appetizer. about the time we were ready to order, our salad which only comes with the house vinaigrette and bread sticks arrived. I am fine with vinaigrette I happen to love vinegar but to waist it over a bagged salad at a restaurant seams a shame. I hate hate hate bagged salad. it is no work at all to chop some veggies up to make a house salad. the bread sticks looked promising but proved to be over cooked and hard. my zucchini was old and so was the calamari. I couldn't even stand to eat the zucchini, my husband ate a little of his calamari but could not stand much of it. If you want to try calamari go to Carrabbas in Orem by the mall, not the Tuscan. When my steak and Alfredo came the first thing I seen on the dish was these chunks of meat just thrown on top of noodles what a pour presentation. my husband's dish was no better no garnish and just a few small shrimp. now for the important part, my Alfredo was okay but I won't ever order it again. it could have used a little garlic and some cream mixed into it. the plate over all was very dry. the chunks of steak over cooked to the point they were dry eww. if I were making this dish I would have first cooked a steak before cutting it and then the steak would have been cut into beautiful strips laid atop the noodles that would be covered with a wonderful garlic Alfredo. The steak being cut into weird shapes and pieces before being cooked was a huge failure. My husband's shrimp scampi was old noodles that only tasted like the had some oil on them with about three small shrimp. these two dishes were a failure to this restaurant follow this blog for more reviews on other dishes and other restaurants.

I Love Food!!!
I Really Love Food. I think about food all day long mmm. cooking a dinner that I serve at 6:30pm usually starts at 2 or 3 that same afternoon. sometimes it will start the night before. I am not limited to one type of cuisine when I cook either. I will move form a French dish one night to Chinese, then the next night maybe Mexican. I rock at all of these dishes as well. ok maybe I am being a little braggy but I'm not the only one who thinks I rock as a chef my husband can't even eat his mother's cooking anymore because my same dish kicks hers but. My siblings can't wait to come for a visit as all they want to do is eat. the only person I have ever cook for that I have no idea how they feel about my cooking is my father but being a man of picky taste and few words I guess if he eats it then he must like it.
Many many times I have been told that I should open a restaurant. However my schedule is pretty full so I'm just going to stick to the next best thing I do and that is to criticize everyone else. so here is a blog of reviews on all your restaurants in eastern Utah but what's even better for every dish that sucks and to be honest that's going to be most of them, I will also give you a recipe to make it at home healthier, yummier, and cheaper then what I payed to go eat it and hate it.
here's to loving your food and waist line.
